AML / KYC Policy

Last updated: July 19, 2026

Summary: Peace Wallet verifies every user, monitors activity for financial crime, and cooperates with regulators — so the platform stays safe for everyone.

1. Our Commitment

Peace Wallet is committed to the highest standards of Anti-Money-Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorist-Financing (CTF) compliance. We operate as a regulated financial service and take a risk-based approach to preventing our platform from being used for money laundering, terrorist financing, or any other financial crime.

This policy summarises the principles and procedures we apply. It is provided for transparency and does not replace our full Terms of Service or Privacy Policy, which govern your use of Peace Wallet.

2. Know Your Customer (KYC)

Before you can transact, we verify your identity. Every user must complete identity verification, which typically includes providing a government-issued photo ID and a live selfie for facial matching. We may also collect additional information such as your name, date of birth, address, and contact details.

We use this information to confirm that you are who you say you are, to assess risk, and to meet our legal obligations. Accounts that cannot be verified will not be permitted to transact.

3. Customer Due Diligence

We apply customer due diligence measures proportionate to the risk each customer and transaction presents. Where a higher risk is identified, we may apply enhanced due diligence, including requesting additional documentation or information about the source of funds.

4. Ongoing Monitoring

We monitor account activity on an ongoing basis to detect unusual or suspicious behaviour. Automated systems and manual review help us identify transactions that are inconsistent with a customer’s known profile or that exhibit patterns associated with financial crime.

Where appropriate, we may request further information, apply limits, temporarily restrict activity, or suspend an account while we investigate.

5. Record Keeping

We retain identification records, account information, and transaction data for the period required by applicable law. These records support our compliance obligations and may be provided to regulators or law-enforcement authorities where legally required.

6. Reporting Obligations

Where we identify activity that we are legally required to report, we will make the appropriate disclosures to the relevant authorities. In line with legal requirements, we may be prohibited from informing a customer that such a report has been made.

7. Prohibited Activity

You may not use Peace Wallet to launder proceeds of crime, finance terrorism, evade sanctions, or engage in fraud or any other illegal activity. Attempting to do so will result in account closure and may be reported to the authorities.

8. Sanctions Screening

We screen customers against applicable sanctions lists. We do not provide services to individuals or entities that are subject to sanctions, or to persons located in jurisdictions where we are prohibited from operating.

9. Your Cooperation

From time to time we may ask you to provide updated information or documentation to keep your account compliant. Providing accurate, current information promptly helps us keep the platform safe for everyone and keeps your account in good standing.
